Another lovely day at sea! Well mostly lovely. :-) We spent the day again by the pool on our comfy deck chairs. The day was a bit cooler than we have been used to and so today we decided to get chairs in the sun. We are both reading interesting books, so we quite enjoyed sitting and reading and basking in the sun (with lots of sunscreen on, of course. :-)
At 11:30am, they had an ice carving demonstration by the pool, but since it was on the other side of the pool, we just listened as the crew members described what the ice carver was doing. He ended up carving a fish.
For lunch, we shared a hamburger and fries since we didn’t have to go too far to get it (just at the end of the deck chairs). After lunch, more relaxing and more reading. Then at 2pm they had the final of the Princess Survivor challenge. The last challenge was between a young man and young woman who had to take four knots out of a frozen t-shirt and then put it on to win the game. I told Mike that I would go and put it in the hot tub to thaw it out. The two competitors put it in the pool at first, but then they put it in the hot tub. It took ages for them to thaw it out and then try to get the knots out. The girl was the first to get the knots out and then the guy helped her to put the wet shirt on. What a good sportsman he was.
Then it was back to …………….. more reading and more relaxing on the deck chairs (oh yeah, and some soft ice-cream in between activities :-). At 3pm they had a margarita demonstration on the other side of the pool and people were watching a member of the bar staff make a variety of margaritas and then whoever guess the answer to a question got to drink the margarita. At the end of the demonstration, anyone who wanted to could make a margarita, but they had to drink it.
The seas started getting quite choppy shortly after this and the water from the pool was splashing up so high and far that we ended up getting sprayed a few times (including our books), so we finally decided to head off back to the cabin and I took one of my Dramamine pills. Those things are really amazing. Shortly after I take one, I do not feel sick from the motion - they are magic! :-)
After dinner, there really weren’t any shows on that we were interested in and so we had thought that we would like to go up on to Deck 14 and watch the movie under the stars which tonight was ‘Blue Hawaii’ starring Elvis Presley. However, with the waves being so big and rocking the boat and with the weather turning colder, we decided that it would be just better if we came back down to the cabin and watched some tv and read our books.
