We were up in time for a dining room breakfast today - YAY! I had my lovely poached eggs again - they do it perfect every time. I decided to go back to having my Dramamine as the waves were big last night (when we woke up this morning, there were papers on the floor which had fallen during the night).

After breakfast, it was time for line dancing with Gavin. He is such a fun person and makes learning the steps easy and fun. We are both catching on pretty quickly and getting quite a good workout at the same time.

Today was the first in the lecture series “Liners to the Sun”. Although John is a great lecturer and has so much information to impart to us, the information wasn’t as interesting as his first lectures were. I think it’s because he talked today about the first cruise ships. I think there’s something special about the old ships compared to the newer ones. We will continue to go to his lectures, though, as he is a very interesting speaker.

After John’s lecture, we decided to do our mile walk around deck 7. It turned out we were walking against the tide, but we didn’t care. It felt good getting out into the fresh air and getting some more exercise. After all, we are eating two desserts (at least) every day.
:-)

Lunch was next which was a very delicious Monte Cristo sandwich - chicken, turkey and ham with swiss cheese with the bread being toasted in egg. It was very yummy!

Of course, we couldn’t forget about our afternoon nap. :-)  We were going to go upstairs to have our nap on the deck, but decided to bunk down in our cabin. We must have gotten too much fresh air or too much exercise because we ended up sleeping for 3 hours! It’s been lovely relaxing so much on our sea days.

Going to supper was a wonderful eating experience as it always is at the dining room. I had steak fajitas tonight and Mike had good ole fish and chips. We are still eating a dessert at both lunch and supper, but are tending to eat lighter ones now. I had a very small piece of key lime pie and Mike had a chocolate mousse.

After supper, we headed up to the Princess Theatre for the nightly show. Tonight’s fare was a wonderful pianist called Ryan Ahern. He was amazing tinkling at the ivories and was able to play so many different styles of music. His hands moved so fast over the keys and sometimes it was hard to keep up with them. They had a screen overhead that was showing his hands on the keyboard and it was amazing to watch him.

After the show we headed off to the Explorer’s lounge for a Country and Western Hoe Down. This was where we were going to be able to do line dancing. There were a lot of us there, but Mike and I still managed to find a spot on the dance floor. Gavin and Melissa (two of the entertainment crew) led us in some line dancing moves and we had a great time keeping up with them. There was one game they played where Ben (another of the entertainment staff) pretended to shoot one of us in the circle and if you were ‘shot’ you had to duck and the people on either side of the shootee had to ‘shoot’ each other and the one who was the last to ‘shoot’ was out. Mike was out early in the game but I was in there ‘til the end. When there were just two of us we had a ‘shoot out’ like in the OK corral. After having a practice shootout, the other lady and I had a shootout for ‘real’. One of the other entertainment crew, Romeo, told me using sign language to turn around before I was supposed to. I thought I was supposed to ‘shoot’ the other woman (whose back was still turned) and so I did. Everyone laughed - turned out I wasn’t supposed to shoot (Romeo told me later), but no one in the audience knew that. We both ended up winning a prize (a bottle of champagne) which we turned in to Melissa and Ben and they gave us a Princess tote bag, so that was neat.
